The Legend Continues – Denis Pedneault is Canada’s Five-Time Champ

History was made on October 19 at the 2013 Physique Canada Canadian Championships when Denis Pedneault won the Tier 1 Elite men’s bodybuilding category and took home the nation’s top bodybuilding title. Prior to that win, Denis had won four national titles with the CBBF, so with this Physique Canada win he’s now a five-time Canadian champion. No bodybuilder that I know of in recent memory has won that many national-level titles.

Discovering New Talent – Stefanie Terrana

In early August, Physique Canada and SAF (SeriousAboutFitness.com) shared a booth at Canfitpro, a popular tradeshow that’s held annually in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Since I have a hand in both organizations, I was at the booth for the two days the expo was on, talking to current and prospective competitors about the organizations and all aspects of competing. Also on hand were Physique Canada’s president, Brian Robitaille, and SAF competitor Lisa Delahaye.

The World-Championships Experience

Karine Pilon is featured on our cover this month – she was the Tier 1 Elite muscular physique (aka figure) winner at the 2013 Physique Canada National Classic, which was held on June 22 in the main theater at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, located in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. Denis Pedneault – The Legend is Returning!

It was in late 2011 that Physique Canada was created, and it wasn’t long afterwards that one of Canada’s true bodybuilding legends joined the competitive team: Denis Pedneault. Denis had been a competitor in the CBBF and IFBB starting as far back as 2005, accumulating four national-level titles (including two overall wins) and placing as high as second at the IFBB’s Arnold Amateur in 2009 and fourth in the IFBB’s world championships later that same year. He’s also one of the country’s top trainers and therapists. What’s more, Denis even plays music and draws. Talk about a diverse guy!

Physique Canada’s New Tier 1 Elite Stars

I’m writing this on June 29, exactly one week since the 2013 Physique Canada National Classic was held in the main theater at the beautiful Canadian Museum of Civilization, which is located in Gatineau, Quebec. This year’s National Classic was Physique Canada’s third national-level event and, as with all the previous events, it was drug tested under the strict rules of the organization’s doping-control program. Physique Canada is all about drug-free sport and competing on a level playing field.
